Why did we create WayFinder?
WayFinder was created by the team at Mechanical Rock. After a decade of building Products and Data Platforms for our valued customers, we understood what makes a high performing software teams tick and what does not.
We leaned heavily into the research conducted by DORA - but importantly, realise that the DORA metrics are a hygiene factor. The real benefit is from the change these metrics help enact.
So what is WayFinder?
WayFinder is a continuous improvement engine for software development teams. It seamlessly connects your product's Source Control, Pipeline and Incident Management tools and indicates your software engineering performance, benchmarked against the (DORA) industry standard.
How is it different? What makes it unique?
Importantly, WayFinder doesn't just produce the metrics, it provides actionable insights (or recommendations) to help you or your team improve.
In addition, it offers the ability to start and track experiments, providing real-time feedback on your teams progress.
Who is it for?
WayFinder is for any team who develop software. If you build custom software and want to improve, then WayFinder is the right tool for you.
We do have some constraints around the type of tools which we integrate with, but these are generally widely used - so if you use GitHub, GitLab or Azure DevOps, you are in luck.
How does it work?
Simply sign up your organisation, connect your product's
- repositories (GitHub / GitLab / Azure DevOps),
- CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions / GitLab Pipelines / Azure DevOps) and
- incident management tool (OpsGenie / ServiceNow)
and get instant insights for FREE.
